KMAC co-sponsors Fête de la Musique at Dubai Opera
On June 21, KMAC team had the pleasure to support the great yearly music festival organized by Alliance Francaise in Dubai. Kamal Musallam was chosen as the director of the event, helping choosing the bands, and setting up the production for the evening. The festival included some of the best Dubai based original bands: the Gypsy Swing Project, Healer Twins, Eddie Misk Band, and As Per Casper. Kamal performed as well with his band, featuring German Cortes on Drums, Eddie Misk on bass, with guests Red One (guitar), and Soren Hansen (double bass). The event was attended by an enthusiastic crowd of over 800 people.

KAYYAM...New Project Idea...A Mixture of Poetry, Painting and Music..
Since a very long time, Kamal had the idea to explore creatively one of the most mystical poets of all times, Omar Al Khayyam, and to transcend - or translate - his poems and thoughts with art and music at the same time...a multi-faceted, multi-dimenstional performance, since Kamal is himself a painter. However, the idea is currently in a deep study phase, lots of reading and imagination of how to execute live this challenging concept. The name for this project has been decided to be "Kayyam"...a play of words around the poet's name and KM's. The website www.kayyam.com was booked and will be dedicated to this new initiative, however it is still "under construction".
